Our Trip to Virginia Beach
In August 1987 I bought a brand new Chevy Cavalier.
So my son and I decided to finally take a nice vacation.
We went to Virginia Beach for a week.
While there we went on a chartered fishing boat.
Well, I was the very first person to catch a fish on that trip.
My son was so embarrassed!
He hollered ~
"Maw ~ That's NOT how you catch a fish!"
When the Captian, who took this picture, asked my son,
"Where is the fish you caught?"
My son replied that he hadn't caught one yet.
I'm no dummy!
If ya catch 'em by the tail ~
you don't have to worry about them biting you
when you take the hook out of them!
Well, In all fairness, I must say that my son finally caught more fish than his Mom.
Wishing Everyone a Wonderful Fishing Season!

HAPPY HEALTHY GRANDCHILDREN
What a Blessing it is to have Happy Healthy Grandchildren.
Today is my grandaughter's 6th birthday.
She is a Pollyanna just like her GramGram.
Just because GramGram isn't able to be at her house to make her a Special Birthday Cake this year ~
NO PROBLEM says Telaya, " I will just make my own Birthday Cake."
Here she is proudly posing so her Daddy could take a picture of her
with the Birthday Cake she made for herself.
If you look closely - you will see 2 separate creations.
The square part is the cake she drew on construction paper.
It is hard to see from this little picture but in pink (her favorite color) she wrote
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TELAYA
and in blue she wrote her address.
She wants to make sure the cake is delivered to her.
In her left hand she is holding up the candle she made for her cake.
It is in the shape of a number 6 and she even made the burning candle flame at the top of the 6.
For a kindergardener, she is an amazing little artist.
But then, her Dad is very artistic also.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TELAYA !
GRAMGRAM LOVES YOU !
PSHer brother Amari told me that they got her a real vanilla cake with sprinkles on it at the Wal-Mart bakery.
And they are right now at an indoor playground at a McDonalds so she can have fun sliding and jungle gyming on her birthday.

God Sends Angels Through Friends
Yesterday would have been my mother's birthday. We always shared the day by going out together for breakfast or lunch. Although this is her 2nd birthday in Heaven, it was a little harder for me, knowing that I will be having facing my first chemo treatment today,
But God sent me an angel - called a friend.
A friend who knew my Mom visited me and brought me a basket of gifts.
And it being a beautiful sunny day - we took a country ride to visit Mom's "Memory Garden" (my words for a cemetary) and placed some pink lillies by her garden stone. Then we had a simple quiet girls lunch out.
Yes, rather than a loney day missing my mother, it was a Blessed Day.
Here is a picture of the last birthday outing with my Mom.
A Beautiful Memory!

An Unexpected Gift
A person whom I have not personnaly met, upon hearing about my cancer diagnosis, sent me this "Special Gift" which he handmade just for me!
He used a lathe to make the wooden section of the pen.
Although I am often on my computer typing away.... writing with pen and paper is my favorite way to communicate. What a Blessing of Joy this gift is for me. THANK YOU!
